Summary

Mind wanted to improve their information offering for those looking for support with their mental health. From user research, they found that people often look for real stories and advice from others who have been through similar mental health challenges. It was important for the videos to be inclusive, relatable, and reflective of a range of experiences. Working with Mind, we developed and produced the ‘Finding Help’ video series, sharing five stories of accessing mental health support.

Creative

The films help to demystify and destigmatise experiences such as visiting a GP, trying a new medication, joining support groups, and talking to a therapist. We wanted to move away from the typical talking-head style formats and create content that felt memorable and warm.

Ensuring participants had a positive experience was a priority and so we involved them at every step of the process. We worked closely with each person to bring their stories to life in away they felt authentically represented them. This involved playing frisbee in the park, whipping up some perfectly pink cupcakes and hunting for some bargains at the local Mind charity shop.

“Catsnake are on another level as a creative agency - intuitive and incredible at what they do, but able to listen to us and partner with us at Mind. Investing in the relationships with our participants before filming our videos was a masterstroke. The resulting films brimmed with personal and powerful stories. From brief to wrap they have been a joy to work with. Not only do they deliver, they know how to make the process focused, easy, and meaningful.”
