Why butterflies are possible

Written by

One thing you can be sure of is that nothing stays the same. We might resist change sometimes, insist it’s fine as is. Who hasn’t heard the phrase, ‘Don’t fix it if it ain’t broke!’?

And yet change is always happening, all the time, all around us.

Night becomes dawn becomes day. Child becomes adult becomes elderly. Caterpillar becomes chrysalis becomes…

Everything, everywhere, including you and I, are in continuous motion. A work in progress, right up until the very end. Because every life lived is a story, and a story isn’t a story until something happens, until there is change.

Without change Jonathan Van Ness wouldn’t have a job, we’d still be using rotary phones and butterflies wouldn’t be possible.

And so it is with great pleasure that Catsnake has embraced some changes this year. We’ve shed our old image and, with the help of the very cool people at Studio Tonic, have donned our new, rebranded apparel.

One near universal theme in storytelling is repetition, as evidenced in Western folklore with the rule of three that crops up everywhere, from wishes to wise men.

Studio Tonic took this idea and applied it to simple, clean shapes, which with repetition turn into beautiful overlapping constructions. The core design concept, featuring these interconnected geometric shapes, represents our collaboration with clients, how we come together to share knowledge, and the bringing together of elements to create something new and unique.

We’ve been working with charities for ten years, helping them to tell their stories, so that they in turn can create change in the world. And that‘s something we will always do. We have nothing but admiration for the causes we work with. They seek out, demonstrate and demand change. And we are the lucky ones who get to help them do it. How? With creative intelligence, our passionate curiosity, and by harnessing the power of storytelling, for good.

We’re so excited to be starting this new chapter and would love to be a part of your next page too. If your charity is looking to tell its stories anew, again, afresh, a bit differently, have a look at our new website, drop us a line or give us a call. Let’s embrace change together.
