Save The Day: Idiots

It’s an actor named Dan Mersh who happens to be an old friend. He has a good combination of ’I’m sort of despicable, yet kind of sweet.’ I had just started Save the Day and was going to Europe to research a screenplay. I booked the trip a while ago but I felt so bad about going, that I decided to shoot something while I was in England. I said, ‘We have to get outside! We need to prove we’re in England’. So we ran out on to Westminster Bridge, gave 10 pounds to a bagpipe player to stop playing, and shot the tag.

Catsnake were approached by the company Mutant Enemy to make an anti-Donald Trump film with Joss Whedon.

Seeing as none of us much like Donald Trump and Joss Whedon is one of our heroes, the answer was simple, “We are Catsnake. It’s what we call ourselves, sort of like a team. ‘Earth’s Mightiest Heroes’ type of thing. So, yeah, we’ll take on Trump with you”.

The original idea was Joss Whedon’s and we were there to facilitate his vision. We spent one day filming with him across central London and the video was released within a series of Anti-Trump messages.

However, with 7.6 million views on Facebook and Youtube it was the second highest viewed of all the videos released in the lead up to the election, only being beaten by a video starring Robert Downey Jnr, Scarlett Johansson, Mark Ruffalo and a host of other A-listers. It was also one of the best days of our lives (not that you asked).
