The film was made for employment agency Reed, to capture ‘Loving your workplace’.
The challenge was to make a film about a job that most people would consider boring or uninteresting.
Sign Language won the Virgin Media Shorts Grand Prize, was a Nominee for Best British Short at the British Independent Film Awards and was amongst the final 15 for the BAFTA Best Short. It was screened in 200 cinemas nationwide, was selected for festivals, including Aspen and Palm Springs, and named among The Best Of YouTube by YouTube.
Sign Language was inducted into the BFI Archive in 2014.
